Purpose of the North Wellington Resilience Trust

 

The North Wellington Resilience Trust is committed to promoting the concept of resilience within communities; developing and improving the social fabric, disaster preparedness, and resilience of Newlands, Paparangi, Johnsonville East, Grenada Village, Horokiwi, Woodridge, Bellevue, Grenada North, and Lancashire Farm; supporting all races, creeds, ages, and communities of shared experience through education, training, awareness-raising, and encouragement to become resilient; and provide co-ordination for volunteers and volunteer organisations within the primary area of operation, who can contribute to improved resiliency.

The purpose of the Trust is to support community–focussed emergency services and agencies who promote resiliency.

In particular the Trust will hold assets to improve the resilience of its community, and to operate an Emergency Welfare Centre.

Another purpose is raise funds to assist the day-to-day operation of agencies that contribute to improved resiliency.

The Trust also promotes personal preparedness and safety, undertake research, advocacy, and training, and from time to time supports similar community-operated organisations in the greater Wellington region.
